Setting Up
Your Picasa ID may be different from your normal Google username. The confusing part is that your Google username gives you full access to your albums on the Picasa website from the web browser but limited or no access from third party apps like Web Albums App.
To look up your Picasa ID, go to http://picasaweb.google.com from your web browser on your computer, log in, and click on the gear icon > "Photo settings" link at the top right. From there you will see "Your Gallery URL". The section in bold is your Picasa ID. Use this ID and your Google password to log in from Web Albums App.
Please see the previous question.
Do you have 2-step verification enabled for your Google account? If so, you'll need to generate a new password for every app. http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/static.py?page=guide.cs&guide=1056283&topic=1056284
We can't retrieve your password for you but you can do it easily from Google's password retrieval webpage here: https://www.google.com/accounts/ForgotPasswd.
First, set up an online account. Setting up a new online Picasa Web Albums account is quick, easy, and free! If you already have a Google account (Gmail, etc.), you can use your Google username and password. Go to: http://picasaweb.google.com/
Once you set up your online Picasa Web Albums account, open the Picasa 3 software on your computer. Read more »

Typically, the thumbnails will automatically update whenever the albums or pictures are modified. However, you can always "Pull-to-Refresh" by pulling down on the screen until the "Pull down to refresh..." message appears at the top of the screen, then let go.
Video sound will be muted if you have the Mute switch on your device switched to "on". If you have the switch enabled for Lock Rotation, go to your device's Settings app -> General -> Use Side Switch to: -> Mute. Then slide the side switch to the up position, and try playing the video from the app.
"Pull-to-Refresh" will retrieve the data from Picasa servers, whereas, Refresh Album Cache from the Album Settings will first clear all the saved thumbnails and photos from the App and then retrieve the data from the servers.
You may want to view your photos offline or just view them quickly even when you're on a slow connection. Web Albums App's caching feature automatically lets you do this. As you browse your photos, the thumbnails and high-resolution images are saved inside the App.
You can even choose to cache entire albums by enabling Cache Entire Album from the Album Settings on any album. You can get to the Album Settings by tapping on the "Gear" icon on any album screen, which displays the photo thumbnails.
Here's a shortcut. You can set albums for caching from a list. Go to Settings tab > Caching > Album Cache Settings.
Just tap the Play button in the bottom toolbar from the Album screen (with the thumbnails) or the Full Photo screen. You can adjust the speed from the Settings tab > Slideshow > Play Each Slide.
Go to the Settings tab > Slideshow > Play Each Slide.
Image resolution for Picasa photos is a maximum 1024 pixels on the iPad, iPhone 4, and iPod touch with Retina displays, and 512 pixels on non-retina iPhone and iPod touch.
Image resolution for Facebook photos is a maximum 720 pixels on all Apple devices.
Go to the album you want to delete and tap on the Album Settings button, labeled with the Gear icon. In the Album Settings, tap the Delete Album button. Caution: Deleting an album from the App will permanently delete the online album.

This is a problem with only Picasa accounts. First, make sure that you are logged into your Picasa account with your password. If you are, you are probably having an issue with your Picasa username. Please see this FAQ topic.
Take a look at our Getting Started page.
With iOS 4.0 or higher, you can upload multiple photos and videos as long as the "Location Services" for the App is enabled. You can do this from the device's Settings app > General > Location Services > Web Albums. Note: Web Albums option will appear after you upload for the first time.
With iOS 4.0 or higher, you can upload videos as long as the "Location Services" for the app is enabled. You can do this from the device's Settings app > General > Location Services > Web Albums. Note: Web Albums option will appear after you upload for the first time.<
From iOS 4.0, Web Albums App can use a customized image picker that allows batch and video uploads. However, the location data on your pictures also becomes available with the picker, which is why Apple requires the App to ask for your permission.
This is an iOS thing. Whenever you have a background process running in the background, the iOS will kill it after a certain length of time in order to regain memory resources. If your uploads will take a long time, it is best to leave the app open on the screen.
The Disable Auto-Lock prevents your device from going to sleep while it's uploading to Picasa. When the device goes to sleep, it will automatically kill any ongoing uploads after a few minutes. We recommend using the default settings to prevent this problem.
By default, the App uploads full resolution images, but you can easily change this from the Settings tab > Uploading > Upload Image Size. Choices are Full Size, 800, 1024, 1600, and 2048 pixels.
Yes, the App uploads videos at their full resolution, which is HD for iPhone 4, iPad, and the newest generation iPod touch.
Tap on the thumbnail of the item you are uploading and then tap on the cancel button that appears.
This error may come up when you are on 3G and has to do with a bug deep in the OS. Apple is currently fixing this problem. Many times, the issue resolves itself after ignoring the error and continuing to upload.
This means that you have used up all the storage space in your Picasa account. For free accounts, the limit is 1GB. You can check your storage from http://picasaweb.google.com > Settings > Photo Settings > Storage.
You can purchase more storage from Google here: https://www.google.com/accounts/PurchaseStorage. To use your new storage from the App, you must first activate the storage by uploading a photo from the Picasa website or the Picasa 3 software.
This means that you've exceeded the maximum number of photos in an album or the maximum number of albums in an account. Google sets the maximums at 1,000 photos (and videos) per album and 10,000 albums per account.
First, check whether the photo isn't corrupted or damaged by opening the photo in the native Photos App. You may see the thumbnail for the photo but you won't be able to see the full resolution photo if the photo is damaged. If that isn't the issue, try removing the Picasa account, and add it in again from the Settings tab > Accounts.
